Dear Friend and Supporter,

My sincere thanks to you for believing in me and my campaign for the Florida House of Representatives.  Your early support and friendship mean a great deal to me.

You may not be aware that I chose to withdraw my candidacy and not qualify for this election cycle.  I chose not to run for a variety of reasons, most of which are personal. 

As many of you are aware, I have found that certain responsibilities necessitate me being closer to home.  In particular, my father increasingly requires more of my time since the death of my mother in 2009.  Although my desire for public service continues to remain strong, family obligations demand my personal attention at this time.

In addition, my husband, Vernon, was recently declared Mayor-elect for the City of Palatka and this circumstance will also create duties for me.   These responsibilities, coupled with difficult business operations, would keep me from meeting your needs and serving our community.

I recently completed a project recognizing and honoring the World War II Veterans of our community and I am reminded of the commitment and sacrifice necessary to preserve our great Country.  There are serious challenges and decisions in the future of Florida and like you I am committed to continue working toward a brighter future for us all.  I look forward to working with you in the years ahead as we explore opportunities to serve Florida and our communities.
